A whopping Bespoke Letterpress Giveaway

Ahhh! This is the type of article I am not sure I want to share but alas… here ’tis. I have featured Bespoke earlier on for their fine letterpress work they do, especially with the use of clean typography. Now the team behind these are doing a huge give-away valued at $650AUD which includes 10 amazing prints and to think all you have to do to enter is to write a comment. Thankyou team Bespoke.

Competition details are here.

In store now

If you are any thing like me – and chances are you if you are reading this post – you are automatically drawn to type where ever it is – and however it is displayed. But when you see it used in a slightly differant way or place, like in a store window – how do you react? Personally, I feel like I automatically have a connection with either the owner or feel they have very good taste. After all – not everyone appreciates good typography.

Hark Design did an installation for a hair and beauty salon in Sydney recently which I particularly like not only because it is type – but because of it’s dual purpose of art and a divider/screen.

The old type

I love anything vintage style. I love old furniture, toys that have been kept in a dusty box for years, bottles that have crystalized around the rim with the labels just hanging on, and most of all posters with great typography.

Reach out

When I see beautiful typography I want to touch it. With the luxary of letterpress that is possible. Bespoke letterpress boutique of Brisbane Australia, design and hand print couture invitations, stationery and beautiful paperie. Their understanding of the best techniques are blended with fine graphic design while printed on 100% cotton paper.

Packaging up type

If there is one thing I love most about the material world. It would have to be packaging design. Clever, sophisticated yet realistic packaging. Although I have a slightly bigger fetish for older styles I still buckle over some modern creations with even more modern and advanced printing techniques. Here is a showcase of some modern and beautiful packages which encompass some great thought into printing techniques.
